Edward T. Saadi is a respected expert in the area of intellectual property law, with more than a decade of experience handling sophisticated and complex cases in the field. His expertise encompasses copyright and trademark law (infringement litigation, domestic and international registration, and opposition/cancellation proceedings), internet law with special emphasis in online defamation cases and domain name disputes, and entertainment law including right of publicity, contractual breach, and idea submission litigation. His clients and adversaries have included some of the world’s best-known companies including merchandisers, motion picture studios, food manufacturers, luxury goods firms, restaurant chains, Las Vegas casinos, record labels, and software developers, as well as persons such as authors, Hollywood screenwriters, songwriters, recording artists, and their heirs.

Mr. Saadi also possesses expertise and experience in general civil litigation, appeals, consumer law, and collections, and has been designated by the Attorney General of Ohio as “special counsel” to assist in such cases.

Mr. Saadi is admitted as a member of the state bars of, and admitted to practice in all of the state courts in, California, Ohio, and the District of Columbia. He is also admitted to practice in numerous Federal courts, including the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. In addition, he has extensive experience handling proceedings before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

Mr. Saadi received his A.B. (ARTIUM BACCALAUREATUS) cum laude from Georgetown University in 1993, where he received honors for his thesis on the history of Lebanese-American lobbying organizations. He received his J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center in 1996. During law school, he served as a judicial extern for U.S. Bankruptcy Judge William T. Bodoh, as a summer associate with the firm of Vorys, Sater, Seymour & Pease, and as an intern at the Walt Disney Company’s corporate headquarters in Burbank, California. Mr. Saadi has also worked as an associate at the law firm of Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner in Washington, D.C. He has been a sole practitioner since 1998.
